COVID-19 has shocked everyone and the world, but there are other dangerous crises that are already slowly coming towards us. Climate change, loss of endangered animal species, pandemics and massive natural disasters might be what the future holds — unless people take action. We have all the resources, so now the only thing we need is everyone’s attention and awareness.
Earth Day 2021 is set for April 22. The Biden administration has already scheduled a meeting for the representatives of the nations around the world to discuss the global climate. Let us look forward to this event and hope they progress to restore our environment.
What We Can Do to Help:
To start off the 2021 theme of Restore Our Earth for Earth Day, we can start by supporting local communities, focusing on areas that are highly affected by environmental issues. A lot of those living in areas of environmental crises don’t always have the resources to deal with the damage. So, how can you make a difference? Participate in a local cleanup! Helping our environment is a year-round effort. We must restore the Earth not just because we’re doing “charity work,” but because we live on it. Every one of us needs a healthy Earth to support our jobs, livelihoods, health & survival, and happiness. A healthy planet is not an option — it is a necessity.
