During the Covid-19 pandemic, beauty trends were more inclined to subtle switch-ups such as little amounts of make-up, highlights here or there, or a little trim of your ends. However, according to many professional hairstylists, hair trends in 2023 will be leaning towards bolder styles! For instance, hair trends would have more volume, more length, bigger curls, bigger color transformations, and more! Additionally, a lot of hairstylists predict that 2023 would be a year of the continuous comebacks of hair trends from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s.
1. The Rachel Cut
The Rachel Cut comes from the iconic hair style of Rachel from Friends. This haircut has existed for over two decades already! This haircut works for people with thin or fine hair since it gives a voluminous effect. You look like you have several layers of hair without making it look too thin. Another cut also emerged from this style, called a satchel cut, which is a mixture of the following haircut and a shag.
2. Classic Shags
Shags have been a global phenomenon. There has been different variations of shags created around the world through the ages. We currently have curly shags, long shags, shaggy mullets, and more. Stylists and critics predict that even more kinds of shags will be invented in 2023! According to several hair stylists, the possible reason for the popularity of shags is because this hairstyle usually only needs a blow-dry or air-dry to still get the same effect!
3. Choppy Cuts
You can expect hairstyles like this to become more exaggerated in 2023! The choppy cut is fundamentally a very textured cut. Hairstylists would tend to create more layers to create both a feathered, light look and also a hippy look along with curtain bangs!
