Still remember the cute yellow creatures all over the Internet over the summer? They originated from the Despicable Me movie series and released their own spin-off movie during the summer. The animation featured the voice of popular stars such as Sandra Bullock, Jon Hamm and Geoffrey Rush. The main characters Kevin, Stuart, and Bob grabbed movie-goers’ attention with their comical language and quirky actions. Minions focused on the tough, ultimate mission of the minions to find a big, bad boss to lead them. The minions’ wild adventure was able to bring in a box office of $1.080 billion.

Our Times

This domestic movie has raked in three hundred million dollars in the box office since its release in August. It starred the famous Vivian Sung, Darren Wang, Dewi Chien and rookie actor Dino Lee. The film attracted young, Taiwanese adults who paid to see the nostalgic, 90s comical yet romantic love story between Vivian Sung and Darren Wang. Our Times growing popularity has led to the public’s growing notice of Darren Wang and Dino Lee. The noticeable soundtrack of this production included “A Little Happiness” by Hebe Tien, “We Are Young” by Dino Lee, and “All About Him” by the Taiwanese girl group Popu Lady.

Avengers: Age of Ultron

During the summer, Marvel Studios came back to the movie scene with another thrilling superhero film. Avengers: Age of Ultron told the tale of the Avengers’ exciting fight against one of Stark’s creation “Ultron”, who was planning to destroy the world. The motion picture amazed the public with its complex CGI to highlight superhero powers and incredible hunts. This time Marvel Studios added new characters to the Avengers crew with Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen as the superhero twins of the Avengers. The action-packed film finally ranked as the third highest grossing movie of 2015.

Inside Out

Ever wondered how your emotions interacted with each other inside your head? The distinct summer movie Inside Out answered this question with its animated and lively characters that represented the five different emotions. The film was about a girl named Riley and how Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Fear and Anger affected her through a big change in Riley’s life. Pete Docter directed Inside Out and the production crew consulted various psychologists for the plot. Inside Out received a very positive response, such as a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Mission: Impossible 5

The famed Mission: Impossible series made a return in the summer of 2015 with its astonishing fifth movie. The storyline of the film was based on the main character, Ethan Hunt, running away from the CIA after the disbandment of the IMF. The star of Mission: Impossible 5 was definitely Tom Cruise with his breathtaking stunts throughout this movie. Celebrities such as Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, and Rebecca Ferguson depicted other main characters of the film. The motion picture has brought in a box office of $614.3 million since its premiere in July.
