Studying is a very important process that leads to success. Students are studying most of the time. However, not all students enjoy the process of studying, which might result in not studying at all. The consequence of not studying is not reaching the expected scores. To ease this problem that each and every one of us may encounter at some point in our life as a student, here are some study tips that could help motivate a student to study.

Many dislike studying because they don’t like reading and analyzing long texts and taking notes. A tip for making the process of studying enjoyable is to color code the texts. By using highlighters, students could make studying fun and enjoyable. When taking notes, highlighters can also make later revision easier and faster. Students can also use post-it notes to mark the important points of a specific page or chapter.

Another important key for studying is planning ahead. Planning ahead helps decrease the time spent thinking about what to do next. It also helps you stay on task. There are many useful apps and methods for planning with a quick Google search. Some useful apps include Notion, Google Calendar, or Notes. A good method to utilize is to always focus on one task at a time and take a 10-minute break after an hour of work. By planning ahead, studying becomes more efficient!

A good environment for studying is extremely important for studying. Researchers have found that students usually study more efficiently in a clean and quiet environment. When studying, try to avoid having distractions, such as phones, nearby. Close all irrelevant tabs on your computer to avoid procrastination. It is extremely important to study with a clean table. This is due to the fact that people normally tend to get irritable and lose concentration when the environment is messy. Having a nice environment to study in is definitely one of the first steps to take for a successful study session!

Of course, there are many other tips to look at for a better study experience. The three tips listed above are a few examples for starters to look into. Remember to always make studying something that you enjoy; that way, you would want to study. Once you get the hang of studying, you are already halfway to succeeding in your academic life!
